Citizen Science Lecture Series: The Panhandle Terrapin Project

The Panhandle Terrapin Project is a citizen science effort developed in partnership between the Florida Sea Grant and the U.S. Geological Survey to fill in data gaps on diamondback terrapin biology and ecology in the Florida panhandle. This presentation will cover how the volunteer program works and what we have learned over the last decade.

We invite you to join Bay Watch and The St. Andrew and St. Joseph Bays Estuary Program, in collaboration with Gulf Coast State College, to gain insights into seagrass monitoring and restoration initiatives within the Central Panhandle Aquatic Preserve. Jon Brucker will discuss the techniques employed to monitor seagrass in the preserve, and discuss the ongoing efforts to restore seagrasses in St. Joseph Bay, along with future plans to restore seagrasses in the St. Andrews Bay watershed.
